Nutritionist and Raw Food Educator

Shawna Barker BSc., RHN is a nutritionist, organic farmer, and raw food educator. She is passionate about natural health and sustainable living; an interest which led her to graduate with honours from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelors of Science degree in Food, Nutrition and Health and to complete the holistic nutrition program at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition.

She slowly starting eating more raw foods while studying nutrition and noticed such a positive change in health and energy that she decided to become a Certified Raw Food Chef and Educator. She recently owned and operated a mobile raw food cafe, Gaia's Living Foods, and an organic farm on Vancouver Island. Shawna has a thirst for knowledge, continuing to study local plant medicines, and enjoys sharing with others about the benefits of a holistic lifestyle.

"Through my own personal experience seeking out nutritious and delicious foods that give me energy, clarity, and balance I felt passionate to start sharing what I have learned over the past 15 years so I can help people create individual dietary, superfood/herb, and lifestyle changes that put them on the path to optimal health."

Although she practices and specializes in plant-based nutrition, she is not limited to dealing only with plant-based diets, she works with many clients with a variety of diets to improve their nutrition.
